Massage For Health and Wellbeing
I began my journey with massage therapy in 2014 when I finally decided to treat an old back injury. After years of living with low back pain, one day I decided that enough was enough! I made an appointment with a chiropractor. I didn’t know what to expect or if he would even be able to help. His treatment plan for me included massage therapy.
Prior to that, massage was something I thought of as “just” a relaxing luxury. With regular chiropractic treatments and massage, my back pain steadily improved, I became more flexible and I even began sleeping better! Why had I been living in pain? Why didn’t I do something about it sooner?!
Massage and bodywork became really valuable to my overall health and wellbeing. I took an interest in bodywork and holistic health and even began recommending bodywork to some friends who were experiencing similar issues.
Healing Spirits: Top Program, Great Environment
A few years later, I started looking for a career change. After having spent many years in the corporate world, I really wanted a career that would bring me more joy. Naturally, massage therapy was at the top of that list! I wanted to find a school that was unique, had a good curriculum and provided individual attention to students. Luckily, I found a school that was a perfect fit in Boulder, Colorado. The Healing Spirits Massage Training Program has a relaxed learning environment with really robust coursework. My favorite techniques are
- Specific injury technique
- Deep tissue massage
- Modified strain/counterstrain
- Lymph drainage
- Myofascial release
- Sports massage
- Muscle energy technique, and
I graduated from Healing Spirits in 2018 and use a combination of these techniques based on my client’s needs. I enjoy working together with my clients to develop treatment plans based on their goals.
